Coffee Farmers Will Diligently Be Supported to Boost Productivity, Quality: Oromia Region Chief

Addis Ababa, September 29/2024 (ENA) Oromia Regional State Chief Administrator Shimelis Abdisa promised to diligently provide more assistance to coffee growers with a view to increase productivity and quality.

The Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority in partnership with Oromia Regional State, one of the major coffee producer regions in Ethiopia, has today launched a movement in the town of Nekemte. 

 

The objective of this campaign is to enhance the productivity and quality of coffee farming activities. 

On the occasion, the Chief Administrator mentioned about an initiative being implemented with a view to improve the productivity and quality of Coffee. 

As a result, coffee productivity has been increasing as billions of coffee seedlings are planted and renewed over the years, Shimelis said.

However, he noted that there are remaining works in terms of improving quality, pledging to provide support to increase coffee productivity and quality in the future.

The Chief administrator has also stressed the need for strong collaboration among coffee producers, suppliers, exporters and research institutions to support government initiatives.
