Prime Minister Abiy Reviews Logo Hayk Project in Wollo

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed reviewed today the Logo Hayk project, which aims to make the Wollo and surrounding areas a tourist destination.

The project is being developed for future generations, the premier said in his social media post. 

“We will work diligently to complete this project, which has already created employment opportunities for many,” Abiy affirmed. 

 

The Prime Minister has earlier today visited development projects in and around the city of Dessie and met with the residents. 

The Green Legacy planting for this Ethiopian year was also launched in Hayk City of South Wolo Zone, Amhara Region, today.

Recall that the premier said during the Green Legacy pre-launch program held at the Office of the Prime Minister late last week the country's goal for this year is to reach 40 billion seedlings from the overall target of 50 billion.

Ethiopia has planned to plant 7.5 billion seedlings this planting cycle across the country.  

The nation’s forest coverage has increased to 23.6 percent by 2023 from 17.2 in 2019, it was learned.
