Ethiopia Proved Cooperation Competency at BRICS Int'l Forum: PP Public & Int'l Relations Head

Addis Ababa June 19/2024 (ENA) The BRICS International Political Parties Forum held in Russia's Vladivostok has successfully concluded.

Political party delegations from the BRICS member countries, which took part in the four-day forum from 16th June to 19th 2024 under the theme: “World Majority for Multipolar Order”, have issued a 24-point joint declaration. 

Prosperity Party (PP) Public and International Relations Head, Addisu Arega said that Ethiopia has registered impressive diplomatic victory at the forum.

He recalled that Ethiopia is known for its leading role in international solidarity from the League of Nations to the present United Nations and has made great contributions from the establishment of the Organization of African Unity to the African Union.

The Prosperity Party has affirmed Ethiopia's strong position for international and multipolar solidarity at the forum, the head added. 

According to him, Ethiopia has also demonstrated its effective diplomacy under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the ruling Prosperity Party by joining the emerging BRICS bloc.

 

On the margins of the forum, Ethiopia has also been able to prove its international solidarity by consulting with representatives of political parties of BRICS and partner countries, Addisu stated.

The head underscored that the country has scored a great diplomatic victory at the forum.

The BRICS political parties forum essentially emphasized the need for the countries to strengthen solidarity and coordination, safeguard world peace, guide global development, safeguard international morality, and promote exchanges among civilizations. 

For Adissu, BRICS would protect the interests of the majority of the people of the world represented by the member and partner countries.

In the joint declaration, the participants have expressed their concern that the influence of non-African countries on the continent’s affairs of politics, military and humanitarian aid should be stopped, it was learned. 

The political parties of the BRICS countries have emphasized the importance of strengthening the cooperation between BRICS and African countries.

Recall that an Ethiopian high-level delegation led by Adem Farah, PP Vice President and Democracy Building Center Coordinating Office head with the rank of Deputy Prime Minister,  attended the forum in Vladivostok, Russia.
