Ethiopia Will Continue To Strengthen its Longstanding Ties, Cooperation with China: Adem Farah 

Addis Ababa June 17/2023 (ENA)Ethiopia will continue strengthening its longstanding relations and cooperation with China, Head of the Democratic System Building Coordination Center and Vice President of Prosperity Party with the rank of Deputy Prime Minister, Adem Farah remarked. 

Ethiopian High-level delegation led by Adem Farah is participating at the BRICS countries of political parties' international forum in Vladivostok, Russia under the theme “World Majority for Multipolar Order”.

On the margins of the forum, Adem conferred with Minister for International Department of the Chinese Communist Party, Liu Jianchao. 

On the occasion, the Vice President of Prosperity Party highlighted the longstanding and strong economic partnership between Ethiopia and China citing the various Chinese companies currently working in Ethiopia. 

Adem expressed gratitude to China for its unwavering support throughout Ethiopia's difficult times.  

The Vice President also affirmed Ethiopia’s strong desire to further strengthen the relations between the two countries.   

He has also appreciated the government and Communist Party of China for their diplomatic endeavors to help Ethiopia join the BRICS, a bloc very important in the international diplomacy sphere.  

Ethiopia is committed to elevate its strategic partnership with China to a higher level, Adem said inviting officials of Chinese Communist Party including Liu Jianchao to visit Ethiopia. 

 

Liu Jianchao for his part has also affirmed the strong desire of Chinese government to further strengthen its longstanding relations with Ethiopia. 

He explained that since Ethiopia is the center of the African Union, the country also plays key role in strengthening Chinse cooperation with the rest of Africans.  

Hence, in addition to enhancing the long standing bilateral relations, Jianchao stressed the need to further strengthen party to party ties through exchange of experiences, trainings and capacity building. 

He also highlighted China’s commitment to bolster its partnership with Ethiopia in the areas of trade and investment. 

Finally, Jianchao invited Ethiopian delegation to participate at the Africa-China Forum scheduled to take place in China in the coming October, according to information ENA received from Vladivostok.
