Completion of One of Five Corridor  Development Works  Significant Achievement: PMO

Addis Ababa June 10/2024 (ENA)The completion of one of the five corridor development works and the opening of new roads to the public mark a significant achievement, Office of the Prime Minister remarked.

The enhanced corridors developed from Arat Kilo to Ras Mekonon Bridge; from Degol Square to Qayybahr condominium and from Mahmoud Music House to Tedros Square, now provide improved accessibility and connectivity, it said.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, alongside First Lady Zinash Tayachew and high level government officials, visited the newly developed corridors last Sunday evening.

They inspected the infrastructure, admired the beauty of the green development, and appreciated the renovation works.

This visit underscores the government's commitment to enhancing transportation infrastructure and creating more liveable, sustainable communities, Office of the Prime Minister stated.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed indicated this morning that the corridor development project  carried out from Piassa and Arat Kilo routes has been completed in three months, right on schedule.

“We promised that the next corridor review would be on the streets. I'm pleased to share that we've finished the Piassa and Arat Kilo routes in three months, right on schedule. Resource saving remains essential, and we need to be fast and innovative to maintain our momentum in the remaining corridors,” the premier said on social media.

He also apologized for any inconveniences the government may have caused its citizens in the process of this grand initiative that is positively transforming our cities.

“Rest assured, we are committed to helping Ethiopia and will continue to address any design and quality gaps as we progress.”
