Over 154 Million Birr Obtained through Telethon for Clean Ethiopia: PM Office 

Addis Ababa May 12/2024 (ENA) The Office of the Prime Minister disclosed that 154 million and 500 thousand Birr has been collected through the digital telethon held today for Clean Ethiopia initiative. 

The digital telethon with a target to obtain 50 million birr in 10 hours started at 8:00AM and concluded at 6:00PM. 

Several institutions and individuals have participated in the telethon registering more than the planned target.

Prime Minister's Press Secretariat,  Billene Seyoum stated that 154 million 500 thousand Birr was collected in the stated period in the digital telethon.

She said  that 67.5 million Birr was collected directly from the community through the telethon.

Billene mentioned that the Ethiopian Commercial Bank has donated 23 million birr in accordance with its promise to add one birr to the 3 birr each citizen contributes.

She recalled that the employees of MIDROC Investment Group and the companies under it donated 64 million Birr. 

The head expressed gratitude for the 40, 533 people participated in the telethon.
