Muslims Call for Sustained Support to Needy beyond Eid al-Fitr

Addis Ababa, April 10/2024 (ENA)  Some Muslims celebrating Eid al-Fitr told the Ethiopian News Agency the need for extending the support that has been given to the needy during the Ramadan.

Ethiopian Muslims across the country celebrated the 1445th of Eid al-Fitr today.

The Muslims celebrating the holiday at the Addis Ababa Stadium stressed the importance of preserving the invaluable essence of helping one another, and added that the good deed should not be limited to the month of Ramadan.

Jamal Redi said Ramadan is a month when all Muslims support and extend a helping hand to the needy.

During the month, Muslims share what they have and demonstrate generosity, he noted.

According to him, there is a need to extend the commendable deed of helping and supporting one another.

Mubarek Mohammed also said that Muslims should continue providing the support they were rendering in Ramadan.

He stated that it is important not only to help the poor but also to incorporate the practice as social norm.

Similarly, Nurselam Hassen underscored that the good deeds cherished should not be exercised only during the month of Ramadan.

Eid al-Fitr, the holiday which marks the end of the Islamic Holy month of Ramadan, is being celebrated by Muslims across the country.
