Ethiopian Police Officers Deployed to South Sudan Given Warm Send Off

Addis Ababa, March 29/2024 (ENA) A farewell ceremony has been held today for senior Ethiopian police officers departing to join the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan.

At the sendoff ceremony, Ethiopian Federal Police Commissioner General Demelash Gebremikael said the Ethiopian police force is becoming increasingly sought after by international organizations due to its ethical standards and military capability.


 

He urged the officers to demonstrate the high standards of moral and policing skills of the Ethiopian Police to civilians and officers of other nations they meet during the mission. 


 

Ethiopian Federal Police Peacekeeping Center Head Commander Tegegn Agaz on his part  appreciated the federal and regional police officers who served as peacekeeping forces in Sudan, South Sudan, Abyei, and Haiti for fulfilling their duty and upholding the image of the country and the institution.

Commander Tegegn also called on the senior police officers deployed to respect the culture and values of the localities they will serve in the host country.
