Ethio-UAE Military Cooperation Demonstrates Friendship Based on Brotherhood, Trust: Lt. Gen. Yilma

Addis Ababa, December 16/2023(ENA)-The military cooperation between Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates shows the friendship based on brotherhood and trust between the two countries, Ethiopian Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Yilma Merdasa said.

The closing ceremony of the 88th anniversary of the Ethiopian Air Force was held in Bishoftu today.

 

During the occasion, members of the Ethiopian Air Force and the United Arab Emirates Air Force performed a joint air show dubbed “Black Lion.”

Briefing the media about the air show, Lieutenant General Yilma Merdasa elaborated that various works have been carried out in cooperation with the United Arab Emirates in various  military spheres.

According to him, the military cooperation of the countries shows that relationship of the governments of Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates is based on brotherhood and trust.

The Air Force Commander pointed out that the “Black Lion” air show was more successful than expected.

Lieutenant General Yilma revealed that the Air Force will work to organize world class air shows in cooperation with many countries that have shown interest. 

Many countries are interested in this and agreements were made at the recently held Future African Air Force Forum, he added.

Moreover, the commander disclosed that the technologies the Air Force has been equipping itself with show that it is possible to realize the effort to become the leading Air Force institution in Africa by 2030.
