Ethiopia Grants Scholarships for South Sudanese Students

Addis Ababa December 12/2023 (ENA) The Government of Ethiopia has granted scholarships for 120 South Sudanese students in undergraduate, TVET, BSC, postgraduate and PhD programs for the academic year 2023/2024.

The Ethiopian Embassy in South Sudan bid farewell to students who are granted scholarships in Ethiopia.

During the farewell ceremony organized by the Ethiopian Embassy in Juba, Ambassador Nebil Mahdi congratulated the students who are awarded the scholarship programs, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ambassador assured the commitment of the government of Ethiopia to continue enhancing the bilateral relation in capacity building and human development.

Adil Athanousio, Undersecretary of Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of South Sudan on his part appreciated the continued support of the Government of Ethiopia, especially in education and capacity building programs.

Jusito Wani, Director General of Training and External Relations at the Ministry of Higher Education pleaded with the students to go with sole vision and mission of coming back and serve their beloved country after their respective studies in Ethiopia.

Deng Abraham Akech, Chair of Ethiopia Alumni Association of South Sudan who shared his experience, advised the students to study with discipline and hard work.
