Ethiopia Taking Part on 28th Session of Organization of the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons

Addis Ababa, November 29/2023 (ENA)  A delegation led by Industry State Minister Hasan Muhumed Moalin is taking part on the 28th Session of the Organization of the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague, Netherlands, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The session is deliberating on various agendas that bring together the 193 member countries on the implementation of the Chemical Weapon Convention that guides the work of the organization.

 

The state minister has delivered Ethiopia's position on the need to strengthen the Africa Program for technology transfer and capacity building on chemical related technologies and preventive aspects on damages.

The Organization of the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons has recently launched a state of the arts chemical laboratory that will be available for member countries demand for chemical laboratories, training, and capacity building, it was learned.

Ethiopia is a founding member of the OPCW that was established in 1997.
