Plumping System Factory Built in Ethiopia to Encourage Import Substitution, Export Trade

Addis Ababa, November 17/2023 (ENA) A world class plumping system manufacturing plant constructed with a cost of 14.5 million USD inside Adama Industrial Park believed to encourage import substitution and export trade, officials of the company disclosed. 

The factory, which is located in Adama Industrial park and sits on 300 meters square land, is the first factory established with the joint venture of Ethiopian company with international firm to produce international certified and accredited piping in Ethiopia. 

The factory, which will be officially inaugurated on Saturday, is built by EZM Trade and Investment Partnered with the Chinese, RIIFO CO.LTD to produce high quality, ecofriendly integrated plastic piping system products.  

The factory is believed to substitute products of plumping systems while helping to solve the supply shortages as it has an annual production capacity of up to 2 million meters PPR pipes and 1.9 million pcs of PPR fittings, 1 million meters of PVC drainage and 900 thousands pics of PVC fittings and 3.5 million meters of PVC conduit pipes.   

Briefing the Media, the CEO of EZM trade and Investment, Esmelealem  Zewdie said “The inauguration of the new plant marks one of the biggest movements of our company. According to him, the certified products are poised to dominate the market in terms of quality, price, and consistent availability. This is especially significant, as our products match the esteemed quality of RIFFO brand imported pipes and fitting, making them the preferred choice.’’

RIFFO General Manager Jason cheng said our company actively partners and collaborates with local inventors worldwide for and success.

"Our goal is to bring our state of the art technology and expertise from our 70 branches across100 countries to Ethiopia, and help the local community.’’

The General Manager further said  chinese based RIFFO has been operating for 27 years and provides products for 80 countries added.
