Gov’t Will Strive to Ensure Social and Economic Benefits of Elderly, Says DPM & FM

Addis Ababa, November 9/2023 (ENA)  The government will work to ensure the social economic benefits of the elderly and to solve the problems they face, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen said.

He made the remark while visiting  Mekedonia  sanctuary of the elderly,  the poor, the sick, the weak and the friendless.

 

The Elderly Day was marked for the 33rd time internationally and for 32nd time in Ethiopia today.

The day is observed under the theme, "Respecting the rights of the elderly, crossing generations".

The deputy premier finally called on this generation to fulfill their national responsibility by taking care of the elderly, who are indebted to the country, and take them as a role model of good personality.
