Conference Aimed at Enhancing Participation of Women in Coffee Dev't Underway in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa ,October 16/2023(ENA)- The International Women’s Coffee Alliance (IWCA) Conference is underway in Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee, with the aim of enhancing the participation of women in coffee development.
The International Women's Coffee Alliance (IWCA) is being conducted under the theme “20 Years of IWCA: Power of the Past & Force of The Future”.
The week-long event, including a two-day conference, marks the 20th anniversary of IWCA and has brought together the international coffee community, including leaders from the global chapter network representing 33 countries, it was learned.
The IWCA Conference will be a momentous occasion celebrating the achievements and contributions of women in the coffee industry over the past 20 years.
This event will provide a platform for industry professionals to engage in meaningful discussions, share insights, and foster business partnerships.
It also includes panel discussions, featuring coffees from producing chapter members, an expo hall showcasing innovative products and services, origin trips to experience the birthplace of coffee, cultural activities highlighting Ethiopia’s rich heritage, etc.
Women and Social Affairs Minister Ergogie Tesfaye, IWCA Board President Sharon Riechers, among others, have attended the opening of the event today in Addis Ababa.
