Investment opportunities in Ethiopia Discussed At India-Africa Business Conclave

Addis Ababa, October 09/2023 (ENA)- Embassy of Ethiopia in India participated in India-Africa Business Conclave held in Pune, Maharashtra State, India.  

The Conclave was organized by Global India Business Forum (GIBF) to strengthen bilateral business and investment partnerships between India and African countries. 

More than 750 invitees attended the event, according to information obtained from the Embassy of Ethiopia in India.  

In his remarks, Ethiopia’s Ambassador  to India, Demeke Atnafu addressed the audience on the Ethiopian investment opportunities with special focus on priority sectors such as agriculture and agro-processing, manufacturing, ICT, mining and tourism. 

He also expounded favourable economic factors such as market access, land, trainable labour force, specialized economic zones, integrated infrastructure, fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, economic reforms including privatization and liberalization of financial and telecom sectors among other things.

The ambassador further invited Indian companies to invest in Ethiopia.  

Furthermore, Ambassador Demeke promoted Ethiopia’s export products and tourism potential with the tagline 'Land of Origins'. 

During the occasion, the Embassy engaged in one-to-one meetings with more than 150 company representatives. 

India-Ethiopia Business and Cultural Council has also been launched at the event.
