UNDP Expresses Commitment to Supporting Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, September 23/2023(ENA) United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Administrator Achim Steiner said that UNDP is committed to supporting the peace-building process in the country, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The UNDP Chief, who conferred with deputy prime minister and foreign affairs minister on the margins of the 78th UNGA in New York, noted UNDP is an all-weather long-term partner. 

He also said that apart from the reconstruction and rehabilitation programs, UNDP supports Ethiopia to sustain its remarkable development momentum.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Demeke Mekonnen lauded UNDP for its support so far and called for concerted efforts along the government and development partners. 

He also had productive discussions on other development programs.

On the margins of the 78th UNGA in New York,  Demeke had productive discussions with high-level government and international institutions officials and partners on bilateral, regional and multilateral issues of cooperation.
