Ethiopian Ambassadors to South Korea, Pakistan Receive Awards  

Addis Ababa, September 01/2023 (ENA) Ethiopian Ambassadors in South Korea and Pakistan have received awards in recognition of their outstanding dedication endeavors in deepening closer ties among the three brotherly nations.

Ethiopian Ambassador to South Korea, Dessie Dalkie received “2023 Best Ambassador Award” from the Korea Consumer Global Council “in recognition of his outstanding dedication and activities.

The award, given by the Korea Consumer Global Council, recognizes his dedication to fostering a comprehensive bilateral partnership that includes fostering investment, expanding academic exchanges, fostering trade exchange, and setting up forums for investment and culture exchange between the two friendly nations.

In his congratulatory remark during the Award ceremony, Ambassador Dessie Dalkie said that this award serves as an inspiration to intensify his efforts in fulfilling his duties as a representative of Ethiopia and its people in the Republic of Korea. 

He emphasized that the award will make him more dedicated to further enhance the diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and the Republic of Korea, as well as to serve his motherland and the interests of the Ethiopian people.

The ambassador also added that he is dedicated to give his utmost effort to pursue his mission and achieve new milestones and achievements that benefit both Ethiopia and Republic of Korea, as well as their respective people.

Similarly, Pakistan’s National Peace and Justice Council (NPJC) honored Ethiopian Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Jemal Beker Abdula, with the esteemed National Peace Award.

The award ceremony took place during the national peace seminar which was held at the Islamabad Club, it was indicated. 

This recognition was bestowed upon Ambassador Jemal for his dedicated efforts in laying foundation and fostering closer ties between the two brotherly nations.

NPJC Chairman Mian Abdul Waheed presented the award to the ambassador, lauding his commitment to strengthening the bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Pakistan by bridging the gap and bringing people to people, institutions, and business communities closer.

 He said, indeed Ambassador Jemal Beker played a crucial role in advancing fraternity and brotherhood between the two heirs of civilizations. 

Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador Jemal Beker extended gratitude to the NPJC for acknowledging his endeavors to enhance friendship and partnership between the two countries. 

He further emphasized peace as shared values between Ethiopia and Pakistan while highlighting their significant role as major contributors to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission to ensure peace, stability and prosperity across the globe.

Both nations, he noted, played pivotal roles in preserving global peace and security, with their people working hand in hand to save lives worldwide.

The ambassador took a moment to pay tribute to Pakistan's brave sacrifices in the pursuit of international peace and security, stating that the nation's unwavering commitment to this cause would forever be remembered. 

He also noted Ethiopia's own contributions, with a considerable number of Ethiopian soldiers sacrificing their lives for international peace and security under the blue helmet of UN peacekeeping missions in different countries.
