Ethiopian to Begin Manufacturing of Aerospace in Joint Venture with Boeing

Addis Ababa, August 18/2023 (ENA) Ethiopian Airlines Group, Ethiopian Investment Commission and the Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Ethiopian Airlines Group to build a shed near Killinto Industrial Park for the manufacturing of aerospace parts.

As part of its manufacturing plan that was started in 2009, Ethiopian Group will manufacture aerospace parts, according to a statement from EIC. 
The manufacturing of aerospace parts include aircraft thermo-acoustic insulation blankets, electrical wire harnesses, and other parts, in a joint venture with Boeing with a planned capital of 15 million USD.
The investment project is expected to create employment opportunities for more than 300 Ethiopians, it was indicated.
