"Medemer" Base for Maintaining Multinational Unity: Democracy Building Center Minister

 Addis Ababa August 3/ 2023 (ENA): The concept of "Medemer" is a foundation for maintaining multinational unity and indicates that one cannot exist without the other, Addisu Arega, Democracy Building Coordination Center & Public and International Relations Minister at the Office of the Prime Minister said.

Addisu noted that expanding panels and dialogue forums where ideas could be exchanged is crucial to develop democratic culture in Ethiopia.

A panel discussion under the theme "Medemer for multinational unity", organized by the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) was held today in the presence of high-level officials.

In this respect, he lauded the contribution of the Ethiopian News Agency in fulfilling its institutional responsibility for the flourishing of democratic culture and supremacy of ideas.   

The other panelist, Planning and Development State Minister Nemera Gebeyehu on his part stated that the concept of "Medemer" has not only solved challenges in building mega projects, but also laid  foundation for macroeconomic development. 

 

According to him, "Medemer" has made possible the completion of Ethiopia's mega projects in the planned time frame and cost.

Prosperity Party Political and Ideological Sector Head, Zadig Abraha said that "Medemer" has laid the foundation for the development of a political culture guided by the supremacy of ideas rather than violence. 

He pointed out that the idea of "Medemer" is a deep thought that contains ideas which make people benefit from economic, political and social sectors.

"Inclusion is an idea of ​​continuous growth, according to Zadig, who noted that the concept incorporates a new idea, a new way, and a new culture and generation.

Clarity of ideas, national consensus, national consultation, creating opportunity for negotiation and peace, and the Green Legacy initiative are the hopes in "Medemer" thought. 

All the panelists have expressed their confidence that "Medemer" will help Ethiopia to achieve its goals of national unity, peaceful coexistence, and economic development. 

"Medemer" philosophy is a powerful tool that can be used to overcome the challenges that Ethiopia faces.

The concept of "Medemer" is a new and innovative approach to development that has the potential to transform Ethiopia. By working together, people can achieve more than they could on their own. This philosophy has already had a positive impact on Ethiopia, and it is likely to continue to do so in the years to come.
