Portuguese Shoes, Textile & Garment Associations to Visit Ethiopia to Explore Opportunities  

Addis Ababa July 13/2023 (ENA) Portuguese Shoes Manufacturer as well as Textile and Garment Associations announced plan to visit Ethiopia to explore investment opportunities in the sectors, according to Ethiopia Investment Commission. 

Ethiopia’s delegation led by Ethiopian  Investment Commissioner Lelise Neme and Industry Park Development Corporation (IPDC) CEO, Aklilu Tadesse is paying  a business visit  to Portugal.

The  delegation  held meetings with the President of Portuguese Shoes Manufacturer Association and President of Portuguese Textile & Garment Asso. to invest in Ethiopia,  according to Ethiopian Investment Commission.

Reinforcing Ethiopia’s resolve to excel in priority sectors, the delegation engaged in detailed exchanges with the highest leadership of the sectors in Portugal - including briefings on unparalleled comparative advantages which Ethiopia avails to foreign investments in the leather and textile industries. 

A successful venture, the delegation’s presentation on the regulatory and tailored infrastructure developments and aura of political commitment in Ethiopia convinced both sectors leads to seriously consider Ethiopia as a possible investment and trade destination and to undertake official visits to Ethiopia in early September to assess opportunities firsthand.
