Addis Ababa August  29/2019 Pakistan looks forward to establishing robust and cooperative relations in multiple areas with Ethiopia, Pakistani Ambassador Golo said.

In an exclusive interview with ENA, Ambassador Asghar Ali Golo said Pakistan is ready to further strengthen the existing long-standing relationship between the countries.

There are Pakistani investors here in Ethiopia that are engaged in various areas, including in textiles, food industry, and engineering, he added.

“We look forward to very robust and cooperative relations in multiple areas between Ethiopia and Pakistan. And that will benefit the people and region economically and politically as well as peace and security,” Ambassador Golo stated.

According to him, bolstering relations and using the Pakistani route to China for Ethiopia and other African countries shortens the distance and facilitates import and export.

Ambassador Golo further pointed out that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed “is a reformist, visionary and remarkable leader.”

Those who were not in Ethiopia cannot see and appreciate the changes that the premier has brought, he elaborated.

Moreover, the ambassador lauded the effort of Abiy in bringing remarkable change in peace and security in the Horn Africa region, including the Ethio-Eritrea rapprochement after two decades of stalemate.

“Now the relation between Sudan and Eritrea has improved, relations between Eritrea and Djibouti has improved, relations between Djibouti and Somalia has improved, the relation within Somalia has improved, and peace has returned to Sudan. So, the Horn of Africa senses fresh breath and stability,” he explained.

According to Golo, the center point in all these national and regional endeavors is Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
