Irrigation Projects that Cultivate about 10,000 Hectares to be Inaugurate Next Week

Addis Ababa April 23/2019 Minister of Water, Irrigation and Electricity will inaugurate three irrigation projects next week.

Water, Irrigation and Electricity State Minister, Abreha Adugna told the press today  that the ministry has completed the construction of Megech Seraba and Ada’a Bacho, Meki-Zway irrigation projects located in Amhara and Oromia regions.

He revealed that Megech Seraba project built at a cost of over 22 million birr will allow the development of about 4,000 hectares of land using irrigation.

Similarly, the ministry is also making preparations to inaugurate Ada’a Becho, and Meki-Zway irrigation project located in Oromia region.

Each is expected to develop about 4,000 hectare of land, and Mek-Ziway will help cover about 2,000 hectare of land upon inauguration, it was learned.
