Memorial Held for Victims of Flight ET 302

Addis Ababa March 26/2019 Memorial for victims of Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 Max 8 was held in the presence of various ambassadors and families of victims at the Embassy of Canada today.

Addressing the gathering, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mahlet Hailu expressed deepest condolences on behalf of the government of Ethiopia to all families of victims.

She said the government of Ethiopia would like to assure that it will efficiently and effectively conduct the follow up of the tragic accident in collaboration with all partners.

Canada’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Antoine Chevrier said “the only thing we can do is provide our open arms and continue to support.”

The Canadian embassy is fully committed to accompany the families every step of the way, he added.

Although the cause of the accident is yet to be known by the international investigation in progress, the entire world knows all B-737 MAX airplanes have been grounded since the tragic accident of Flight ET 302.

Flight ET 302 crashed on March 10 just minutes after takeoff, killing all 157 people on board.
