President Kagame Accorded Warm Welcome, Confers with PM Abiy
Addis Ababa May 25/2018 President Paul Kagame was accorded warm welcome by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and senior government officials at the National Palace today. President Paul Kagame is the first head of state invited for an official visit to Ethiopia since the appointment of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. 
The two leaders have conferred on bilateral, regional and global issues. Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Meles Alem told journalists that the leaders have agreed to boost bilateral relations to a higher level. They also discussed about ways of enhancing the practical implementation of over 20 protocol agreements signed between the two countries. Prime Minister Abiy and President Paul Kagame have also agreed to work together in areas of continental stability, peace and security, and related issues of common concerns. During his official visit, President Kagame is expected to confer with senior government officials, and officials of the AU. The Rwandan President is the current Chairperson of the African Union.
