Ethiopia, France Sign Cooperation Agreement on Space Science

Addis Ababa  March 13/2019 Ethiopian Space Science and Technology Institute and France National Space Studies Center have signed cooperation agreement today.

Space Science and Technology Institute Director-General Solomon Belay and National Space Studies Center President Jean-Yves Le Gall signed the agreement.

The institutions would, accordingly, work to address the impact of climate change using data obtained from satellites.

Moreover, the cooperation would help to identify and monitor areas where farm lands, forest and water are available by applying space technology.

Capacity building and exchange of experts, creating platform to use space science for peace and changing the agreement into action are part of the cooperation agreement.

This cooperation agreement is part of the other three agreements, namely defense, finance, and cultural heritage which have been signed by the countries during the visit of President Macron.
