Ethiopian Receives First Boeing 737-800 Freighter

Addis Ababa March 01/2019 Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Services has received its first Boeing 737-800 freighter today.

Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Tewolde Gebremariam said on the occasion it is exciting to receive the newest freighter a few days after the awards.

The new cargo aircraft enables the Africa’s largest and multi-award winning cargo operator to improve its freight services.

The B-737-800, with over 23 metric tons of payload capacity, gives new capacity to serve short haul destinations in Africa and Middle East to export meat, fruits and vegetables to the Gulf region, it was learned.

The new aircraft is the ninth additional to the existing eight cargo aircrafts of other type.

Ethiopian Cargo and logistics Services delivers cargo services spanning across 44 international destinations in Africa, Gulf, Middle East, Asia, America and Europe.

It is to be recalled that Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Services won “African Cargo Airline of the Year” and “Air Cargo Brand of the Year in Africa” awards for the fourth year in a row last week.
