Lucy to Start on “Peace and Love" Tour

Addis Ababa February 20/2019 The House of Peoples' Representatives (HPR) announced that the "Lucy for Peace and Love" tour departure program will officially be launched tomorrow.
The program will take place in the entire Ethiopia and in some East African countries.
According to the house, messages of love and peace will be conveyed during the tour that will promote people to people relations in the region.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Speakers of the House of Peoples' Representatives and House of Federation including senior government officials are expected to preside over the farewell ceremony.
The tour aimed at fostering African unison and help African to understand their ancestral lineage traced back to Lucy.
IGAD member countries such as Kenya, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, South Sudan and Republic of Sudan as well as Uganda are among the countries incorporated in the tour.
The skeleton of Lucy presents about 40 percent of female body having of a small skull akin to that of non-hominine apes, plus evidence of a walking-gait that was bipedal and upright as well as akin to that of humans.
Lucy or ‘Dinkinesh’, scientifically Australopithecus Afarensis, lived 3.2 million years ago and has been a major contributor to uncover early human species.
Lucy was discovered in 1974 near the village Hadar in the Awash Valley of the Afar region in Ethiopia.
