Ethiopia to Host Next World Economic Forum

Davos January 23/2019 Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed discussed with Executive Chairman of World Economic Forum (WEF), Professor Klaus Schwab and agreed that Ethiopia will host the 2020 WEF.

Last year, Ethiopia officially requested to host World Economic Forum (WEF) on Africa for the second time.

The response came after the Premier Abiy held discussion with Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, in Davos, Switzerland where they deliberated issues of common concern.

The two sides also discussed about the importance of collaborative approach among business, government and the private sector, civil societies in addressing key global challenges.

It is recalled that Ethiopia, one of the fastest economies in the world, hosted World Economic Forum in 2012.
