Companies Caught Conducting Illegal Transactional Activities: Ministry of Revenues

Addis Ababa November 23/11/2018 Some 15 companies were caught while conducting business transactions without issuing receipts, Ministry of Revenues disclosed. Revenues State Minister Zemede Tefera told journalist today, 35 suspects working in the companies were caught in the supervision and monitoring operations carried out in the past ten days. Issuing illegal receipts, undertaking transaction without receipts, and submitting false report of bankruptcy were among the reasons that prompted the ministry to conduct the study, he added. Of the 15 companies, seven are businesses that have big transactions but under report their incomes, whereas the remaining do not issue receipts and get back pay claiming that they paid unfairly huge tax. It is to be recalled that the ministry identified 120 entities that have issued illegal receipts.
