Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day to be Celebrated in Addis

Addis Ababa October 24/2018 Ethiopian Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day will be celebrated on December 8, 2018 in Addis Ababa. At a press statement held today, House of Federation Speaker Keria Ibrahim said the 13th Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day will help to further strengthen people-to-people relation. According to Keria, the government will work to create awareness on balancing ethnicity and Ethiopian identity. The 13th  Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day would emphasize on bringing attitudinal change on the above as these have been neglected so far, she stated. The speaker added, “We need to use scientific ways of dealing with conflict and our rich traditional values of arbitration to facilitate reconciliation and unity.” This year's celebration is expected to magnify Ethiopian unity more than ever, Keria said. The day commemorates the endorsement of the constitution which acknowledged the rights of Nations, Nationalities and Peoples, valued diversity and provided wider protection.
