Foreign Political Parties Wish EPRDF Successful Congress

Addis Ababa October 03/2018 Representatives of foreign political parties have expressed their best wishes for the successful conduct of the 11th Congress of Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) that opened today. The political parties are from Sudan, Kenya, Djibouti, Tanzania, Germany, Rwanda, South Africa, China, and Vietnam. Representative of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Vice Minister Guo Yezhou said the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has expressed its warm congratulations. “We are convinced that this congress will emerge as milestone in the annals of the EPRDF”, he added. Yezhou said the “party-to-party relations have provided important political guidance for development to the state-state relations, he said, adding that “CPC is ready to enhance exchange and cooperation with the EPRDF.” Representative of People’s Rally for Progress (RPP) party from Djibouti, Ali Abdi Farah said “we share that EPRDF is the most consistent political coalition entity for the transformation of Ethiopia.” He added that RPP is committed to work with EPRDF to make Ethiopia and the region a better place in advocating political and economic relations. Representative of Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), Tito Rutaremara said “we would particularly congratulate the chairperson and Prime Minister Abiy for undertaking important reforms which we believe has positive impact on realizing the visions of Ethiopia, the region and beyond.” He stated that “a congress in its nature is the time to reflect on the past and to work and focus on the future. You all want for your countries and people peace, unity and stability, which Rwanda wishes you.” Appreciating the reform in Ethiopia, he said his party will strengthen its cooperation with EPRDF in the future. Representative of the Jubilee Party of Kenya, Abraham Limo said it is a great occasion for Ethiopians coming together for political stability and economic prosperity. Representative of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Ambassador Nguyen Kim Doanh said “we highly believe that the resolution passed by the 11th congress this year will continue to strengthen the solidarity in Ethiopia.” Representative of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), Konstantine Grund said “we are following very closely the political, economic and social development here in Ethiopia.” He added that “SPD highly appreciates the forward looking political initiatives was introduced in couple of months here in Ethiopia.” Furthermore, the representative noted that SPD believes that EPRDF and its members have the most important role in making the upcoming reforms agenda political success not only for today’s Ethiopia but the next generation. Representatives of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and National Congress Party (NCP)  have also congratulated and wished the congress a successful outcome.
