Ethiopia to Celebrate Flag Day with Public Discussion: HPR

Addis Ababa September 24/2018 The House of Peoples' Representative announced that this year's Flag Day will be celebrated with public discussions that would allow creating consensus. HPR Deputy Speaker Shitaye Minale told journalists that it is important to create national consensus on the national flag, as many people has shown difference on the current flag. She further stated that the government will work on enhancing awareness in order to create consensus on the current national flag. Shitaye also said that the government could consider tabling the issue of national flag for discussion, if the public demands for it. Ethiopia has been celebrating National Flag Day every year with the aim of improving the public’s awareness. This year, the Day will be celebrated in October across the country for the 11th time.
