President Lauds Association for Supporting People with Mental Disorder

Addis Ababa August 31/2018 President Mulatu Teshome visited a center run by Gergesenon Association for Supporting People with Mental Disorder today. During the visit, he lauded the association for the voluntary service it has been providing for the mentally disabled since 2005. Mulatu said the government will work with the center to further strengthen the service and called on private and governmental organizations as well as the people to support Gergesenon and other voluntary organizations engaged in similar activities. It is the responsibility of all to support the mentally disabled, he stressed. Gergesenon Association for Supporting People with Mental Disorder Founder, Melese Ayele said the visit of the president has boosted our moral. He pointed out the constraint of space in accommodating the 294 patients and raised the urgency of land to build additional houses. The association has reportedly requested land from the city administration. Deputy Addis Ababa City Mayor Dagmawit Moges said the administration will respond in the near future.
