Ethiopia, Cuba Keen to Cooperate in Science, Technology Sectors

May 18/2021 (ENA)  Ethiopia's Ambassador to Cuba Shibru Mamo held discussion with Cuba’s Minister of Science, Technology, and Environment (CITMA), Elba Rosa Perez Montoya.

During their meeting, the two sides discussed ways to implement the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Ethiopia and Cuba on Science and Technology.

The two sides  have also deliberated on various issues of cooperation in science and technology including biotechnology, meteorology, and astronomy.

Ambassador Shibru on the occasion briefed the Minister on the upcoming election, GERD, Ethio-Sudan Border dispute, and the ongoing humanitarian assistance and rehabilitation activities in the Tigray region.

Finally,  Elba Rosa Perez Montoya proposed to arrange virtual meetings between the Cuban Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment as well as representatives of other ministries or institutions from different sectors depending on the interests of Ethiopia and their counterparts, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
