Premier Abiy, President Isaias Received High Awards

Addis Ababa July 24/2018 Prime Minster Abiy Ahemd and Eritrean President Isaias Afewerki received the highest awards of the United Arab Emirate (UAE) for their contribution to end decades of bloody war and offer peace between the two countries.  UAE’s Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Zayed, has awarded this highest Presidential Medal, The Zayed Medal to the two leaders alongside with tripartite summit between Ethiopia, Eritrea, and UAE starts in Abu Dhabi today. The award ceremony was attended by distinguish UAE’s government officials, ministers and Abu Dhabi based diplomats attended, it was indicated. Furthermore, Premier Abiy will discuss on the ongoing tripartite summit that would enable to strengthen the three countries bilateral and regional ties. The summit is also highly anticipated that officials will hold a discussion on ways of strengthening investment and commercial ties during the summit. Ethiopia and Eritrea were arch-foes for the past 17 years following border standoff.  However, the two countries are enjoying serenity after the peace accord recently signed between Prime Minister Abyi Ahmed and President Isaias Afewerki in Asmara. In response with the Premier Abiy’s visit to Asmara, President Isaias Afwerki was in Ethiopia three days of official visit with his delegation.
