Addis Ababa Gets New Mayor

Addis Ababa July 17/2018 Engineer Takele Uma was appointed to serve as Mayor of Addis Ababa in a capacity of Deputy Mayor today. Though he could not be right away become a Mayor as he is not member of City Administrative Council,  Engineer Takele will have full responsibility of a Mayor, it was learned. The City Administration Council appointed him today at its 5th extraordinary session in line with the revised proclamation by the House of People's Representatives. Engineer Takele, who served as Head of the Oromia Transport Bureau, replaces the outgoing mayor Diriba Kuma. Takele has MSc from Addis Ababa University and served for 11 years in urban related sectors. The City Council also appointed Dagmawit  Moges and Solomon Kidane as Deputy Mayors.
