President Mulatu Acclaims Ethiopian, Eritrean Leaders

Addis Ababa July 16/2018 President Mulatu Teshome appreciated President Isaias Afeworki and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed for their commitment in bringing normalization between Ethiopia and Eritrea and striving to go forward for mutual benefit. During a state breakfast hosted at the National Palace this morning, President Mulatu gave gifts to President Isaias, which depicts different cultural and historical places of Ethiopia. On the occasion the President praised the two leaders for their efforts to speedily reached agreement to end the long-standing war between the two countries. President Mulatu further noted that in the past Ethiopian and Eritrean diplomats who represent their respective countries abroad have not close relation, even they don't know each other. But after the rapprochement and officially end of the border standoff, they began close companionship and cooperation, the President said. President Isaias Afewerki has concluded today his three-day state visit to Ethiopia.
