ERA Signs over 25.8 bln Birr Road Construction Contracts

Addis Abeba,June 11/2020( ENA)  Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) on Thursday signed 15 road construction project agreements worth 25.8 billion Ethiopian birr with foreign and local firms. 

The construction of the road projects cover 1,022 kilometers and are anticipated to be completed within four years’ time.

The cost for the road construction projects will be covered by the government, according to the Authority.

Seven local firms and other foreign construction companies have signed the agreements with ERA today.

During the signing ceremony, the companies have affirmed to complete the construction on time.

It was stated that the 15 road projects will create permanent and impermanent job opportunities for thousands of localities, market accessibility, strengthening ties between cities and rural areas.

Moreover, the projects will also facilitate the health and other social services to the communities properly.

ERA noted for strict adherence to monitor the whole process per the agreement and provide support for well-timed completion of the road projects. Accordingly, quality and schedule will be critical.
