Nat'l Resources Mobilization Committee for COVID-19 Established

Addis Ababa , March 25/2020(ENA) Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has launched today a national resource mobilization committee tasked with coordinating efforts of gathering financial and non-financial materials for coronavirus (COVID-19).

The national resource mobilization committee will have a pivotal role to mobilize resources for COVID-19 emergency preparedness, according to the Office of the Prime Minister.

The office added that the government has allocated a significant budget and is mobilizing resources to prepare for the worst case scenario. Yet such periods require the effort and contribution of each individual.

"Our collective and concerted efforts to help one another in times of great need will be the only way we overcome (the challenge)," it underlined.

Modeling the effort to ‘keep calm and contribute’ the national committee members have donated their one month salary to the National COVID-19 resource pool, it was learned.

It is to be recalled that the government had early this week allocated 5 billion Birr for the fight against coronavirus.
