UN Staff Remembers Ethiopian Airlines Crash Victims

ENA March 11/20202 United Nations staff members and families remembered their colleagues who lost their lives on the crashed Ethiopia Airlines Flight ET-302 last year.
The ceremony was held in Addis Ababa yesterday at the premises of UN headquarters in the presence of staff members, families of the victims and invited guests.
The ceremony was accompanied by a moment of silence, laying of wreath and lightening of a candle to remember the victims.
Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa, Vera Songwe on the occasion said that UN families across the globe in each moment remember their colleagues who lost their lives due to the accident.
Passengers from 35 countries were on board the Ethiopian Airlines ET302 from Addis Ababa, Bole International Airport, to Nairobi that crashed on March 10, 2019, killing 157 people including 21 UN staff members.
Among the victims were nine Ethiopians, 32 Kenyans, 18 Canadians, and eight Americans.
