PM Abiy Discusses with Representatives of Ethiopians in Middle East

Addis Ababa,  February 14/2020 (ENA) Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who is in United Arab Emirates for 3 days state visit, held discussion with representatives of Ethiopian diaspora community residing in the Middle East.

Current national affairs and ensuring safety and rights of Ethiopians in their respective hosting countries was the point of discussion.

Representing their community from Middle East countries took part in the discussion expressed their hope that the Ethiopian government in collaboration with governments of the respective countries to ensure their rights is respected.

They also anticipated that Prime Minister Abiy will be able to talk to the countries with regard to the respect and enforcement of fundamental rights of Ethiopian community.

Participants described Abiy's discussion as “a prime minister to come this distance to only talk to his country people was never expected but he did it and we are grateful for that.”

Concluding his visit Abu Dhabi, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed left for Dubai where he will hold similar discussion with more than 15,000 Ethiopian diaspora communities.

Likewise, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has held parallel discussions last January with representatives of Ethiopians residing in South Africa.
