Russian Government Awards Ambassador Girum Abay

Addis Ababa  June 14/2018 The Government of Russia has conferred on Ethiopia's Special Envoy and Plenipotentiary Girum Abay a medal and a certificate award. Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on the occasion the award to Ambassador Girum was made in recognition of his contribution in further strengthening the multi-faceted ties between the two countries. He received the award from Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ambassador Girum is currently serving as Ethiopia's Ambassador to Belgium. Diplomatic relations between the two countries started over 120 years ago.
