Remains of Ethiopians Beheaded By ISIS in Libya to be Flown Home For Honorary Reburial

Addis Ababa June 11/2018 Ethiopia and Egypt have agreed to repatriate the remains of Ethiopian refugees who were cold bloodedly beheaded by ISIS terrorists in Libya to be reburied in honor back home. ENA has earlier reported that on his official visit to Egypt, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed had conferred with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt during his state visit to the country. A request made by Prime Ministry Ahmed on the release on clemency for Ethiopians detained in Egypt for various reasons and the repatriation of the remains of Ethiopians who were beheaded by ISIS were among issues raised by the Premier during their discussion. Ethiopian Ambassador to Egypt, Taye Atsekeselssie told journalists that the remains of Ethiopians beheaded by ISIS terrorists in Libya will be recovered from the location in which they were buried in Egypt. Agreement has been made between the leaders of the two countries to recover the remains of the deceased for honorary burial ceremony to be held in Ethiopia. The Egyptian President confirmed that his government and the security forces are already prepared to fully cooperate with the Ethiopian government to effect the flight of the remains of the Ethiopians for a reburial in their country. The release of some of the Ethiopian inmates who were detained in Egypt for various offenses have been effected yesterday, it was learnt. The leaders of the two neighboring countries have conducted fruitful and open discussions on various issues of bilateral, regional and global importance in a spirit of full understanding and agreement. ISIS terrorists beheaded 12 Ethiopian refugees in Libya on April 18, 2016 in the most chilling and atrocious action typical of the terrorist organization.
