General Samora Awarded Highest Military Medal

Addis Ababa June 07/2018 President Mulatu Teshome awarded the former Chief of Staff of the National Defense Forces, General Samora Yenus the country’s highest military medal in recognition for his service. General Samora who served the military for the past 42 years is officially retired from his position today. President Mulatu acknowledged the general’s contribution in the process of forming the national defense force. The President said he deserves the award for his patriotism and his achievement in the defense force. Mulatu appreciated General Samora for elevating the defense force to its current status, which is a modern military that plays a key peacekeeping role across the continent. Samora Yenus has been promoted to a four-star general in September 2007.
