Premier Appoints New Chief of Staff

Addis Ababa June 07/2018 Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed today appointed two high level government officials. Accordingly, the Premier has appointed General Seare Mekonen as Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces, replacing General Samora Yenus. General Samora Yenus has been in charge of the army for more than a decade and half. The Prime Minister has also appointed General Adem Mohamed as the Director General of the National Intelligence Security Service (NISS). General Seare Mekonen and General Adem Mohamed were among the three generals who were appointed as deputy of Chiefs of Staff in February this year. The Office of the Prime Minister told ENA that the appointment, bestowed upon the officials starting from today, is based on their work experience.
