TICAD-7 Forum Wraps Up Endorsing Declaration

Addis Ababa August 30/3019 The 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD-7) which was in session from August 28-30 ended by endorsing the Yokohama Declaration.

The Yokohama Declaration is expected to provide multiple areas of cooperation between the African Union (AU) and Japan.

The Ethiopian delegation headed by Prime Minister Abiy had actively participated on the Forum.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed discussed with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan on issues of global, regional and bilateral affairs.

Shinzo Abe highly commended the efforts made by Prime Minister Abiy for the contributions he made in resolving the crisis in Sudan and Ethiopia’s attempts to resolve the conflicts in South Sudan and the country’s commitment in promoting peace with Eritrea and the entire Horn of Africa.

In concluding the forum, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe noted that Japanese companies will engage in various areas of investments across Africa.
