PM Abiy Congratulates New Sudanese Leaders

Addis Ababa ENA August 22/2019 Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed congratulated today Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Burhan of Sudan upon his being sworn as leader of the ruling council.

General Abdel Fattah Burhan was sworn in as leader of the 11-member Sovereign Council.

PM Abiy also shared his message of congratulations to Abdalla Hamdok who was appointed prime minister, following the August 17th signing of the final transition agreement.

The 11-member joint military-civilian body will rule Sudan during a three-year transition period toward democratic elections.
