Ethio-Indian Business Forum Held in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa August 13/2019 Ethio-Indian business forum aimed at promoting foreign direct investment and business-to-business linkage between Ethiopian and Indian companies was held yesterday in Addis Ababa, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Opening the forum, Economic Diplomacy Permanent Representative at the ministry, Dewano Kedir said the forum has a paramount significance to strengthen the long-standing relations between Ethiopia and India.

Pointing out that Ethiopia has been working to give special attention to foreign direct investment, he told the attendees about the reforms carried out by the Government of Ethiopia to support foreign investors to come into the country.  

Indo-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO, Sunanda Rajendran on her part appreciated Ethiopia’s effort in creating favorable environment for investment, adding that Indian companies have interest to invest in areas of innovation and technology, textile, food and milk processing.

Some 40 business companies drawn from Ethiopia and India took place in the business forum.

The Indian attendees of the forum will visit selected investment areas during their stay in Ethiopia.
