State Minister Markos Confers with Japanese Business Delegation

Addis Ababa August 7/2019 State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Markos Tekle, held discussion with Nobuhiko Sasaki, Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and leader of a business delegation from Japan.

During the discussions, Markos has encouraged Japanese investors to engage in various investment areas, taking advantage of favorable investment condition created in Ethiopia, the Ministry stated.

Ethiopia is ready to promote investment opportunities by attending in the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 7) to be held at the end of August, he stated.

He has expressed Ethiopia’s firm commitment to provide all the necessary support for investors coming to invest in the country.

Nobuhiko Sasaki commended the sweeping reform in Ethiopia and noted on Japanese investors who are currently engaged in various investment areas in Ethiopia.

He added that more Japanese investors are keen to invest in the country to assist its industrialization.

JETRO has opened office in Ethiopia in 2016.
