Ethiopians, Leaders Successful in Implementing Green Legacy Campaign: Coordinating Committee

Addis Ababa ENA July 30/2019 Ethiopians along with their leaders have successfully realized the planting of over 350 million seedlings way beyond the targeted 200 million in a single day, according to the Coordinating Committee of the National Tree Seedlings Planting Campaign.

The committee lauded the dedication of the public in which 23 million people from all sections of the society came together to realize the national campaign and surpass the target.

Water, Irrigation, and Energy Minister, Sileshi Bekele stated that software were updating  seedlings planted in all corners of the country every second.

He added that the country has surpassed the threshold of a user of this technology.

Science and Innovation Minister, Getahun Mekuria said on his part that professional support was being provided to ensure that seedlings are planted properly.

Getahun added that the data gathered will be analyzed and interpreted by professionals in the remaining time of the Ethiopian rainy season, while planting continues.
